Fons Hickmann studied design, photography and philosophy. The Berlin based studio »Fons Hickmann m23« was founded in 2001 and it varies a lot in size and scope: There are seven of us at the moment, sometimes there are four of us, sometimes fourteen« says Fons. The staff come from Austria, Germany and Italy. The studio focuses on the design of complex communication systems. The activities of the studio include corporate design, book- poster- magazine design and digital media. The work is conceptual and analytical but also has an sense of humor. Practically all of Hickmann’s works have been awarded prizes of international repute. Fons Hickmann has taught at several Universities, held lectures and workshops around the world. He is a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts and member of the AGI, ADC and TDC. His books are: »Fons Hickmann - Touch Me There« and »Beyond Graphic Design«
